This ALUSILVER in-line modular flexo printing machine has been supplied to our customer for use in clean room printing of aluminium blister foils for the pharmaceutical industry. The machine can be supplied in a range of narrow web widths from 220 -670mm, printing stations 1-12 colours, print repeat 270-500. The machine is ideally suited to print on unsupported soft / semi-hard aluminium foils.

Two cold perforation units have just been supplied to our customer in Sweden, these units will be retro-fitted onto some of their existing converting machinery.
Cold perforations can vary in size, and can be made in many different patterns. The most common of these are square and diamond. Our machines are designed with quick change over tooling, allowing the operator to safely change the pinned sleeves without damaging themselves or the pinned sleeves.
These cold needle perforators can be made up to 3000mm wide as standard.
Custom machines can be manufactured for large diameter rollers in the case of high-speed applications or applications that demand greater width to overcome roller deflection. Our machines are precise, simple to use, and utilize wearing parts that are supplied off the shelf.
Remarkable growth of enquiries and sales of our turret slitter rewinder models 410 & 610. These highly versatile machines are well suited for most extensible material types. And just to prove the point of the last three supplied this year, one was for printed films, another was for adhesive tapes, and the most recent supplied for label laminate and non-woven materials!
All three machines were supplied at 1600mm web width, two were 610mm rewind and one was 450mm rewind diameter, two of these were overhead web path, and one was underfed at the customers request. The rewind section will have 2 x automatically indexing turrets with 2 x differential slip winding shafts located in each turret.
The rewinding shafts of the turret are fitted with our laser core position system to ensure the cores are in the correct position. This system is motorized using a single laser mounted to a ball screw that is accurately positioned by a stepper motor the data for the positioning is entered via the operator interface. These modular systems can have automatic knife setting, automatic roll removal and transfer units. The standard machine running speed is 600mpm.
Sales of our traverse spool winding machines have increased significantly over the past 18 months. This standard six – head unit proving to be very popular, some of the standard features are shown below:
SP-6 model six head spooling machine is designed to produce spools of material, each individual traverse winding head is totally independent of the others. A complex winding software programme controls the position of each spool-winding shaft in one-degree increments to produce a quality finished spooled roll.
The software programme enables the customer to select either “lobe” winding (degrees of turn around point of each cycle) or “pineapple” winding (turn around point less than previous turn around point).
These methods enable the ability to wind products from 10 micron to 10mm thickness. Each winding head is fitted with 3 servomotors.
- Rewind mandrel drive
- Oscillator drive via a ball-screw
- Gap or Contact winding drive, via a ball-screw
The rewinding drive is electronically geared to the oscillator ball-screw, so that when the parameters have been loaded into screen it produces the specified spool.
The Gap or Contact winding is also controlled via the Motion controller so that when Gap winding is selected, the material thickness and gap required along with details of the external diameter of the core is entered into the operator colour touch screen. Therefore at the end of every traverse the material in- feed arm moves the exact material thickness maintaining a constant gap as the spool diameter increases.
In Contact mode the material in-feed roller is moved backwards by the increase of the spool diameter, a sensor then detects this movement and adjusts the in-feed arm back maintaining contact at all times.
We are very pleased to confirm the sale of our Model 610 slitting and rewinding machine to a label converting house in Saudi Arabia.
This slitting machine comes supplied with shaftless unwinder, a 1300mm web width, unwinder diameter of 800mm and a rewinding diameter of 610mm, along with all the standard features. Like auto web guide, auto tension control, razor or shear slitting, full width differential slip rewinding, laser core setting and lay-on roller system.
